or hello – and welcome! I’m Martine, a Scandinavian actress and musician, currently based between London and Sweden.
I grew up in Scandinavia with one foot in the Swedish countryside and the other among the fjords of Northern Norway.
In 2012 I decided to make the jump overseas to go to drama school and moved to Glasgow in ‘bonnie’ Scotland. Growing up, I luckily had no difficulties in school, and therefore thought my English was at a reasonable level – well… Guess who got the shock of her life when she got to first day of drama school and couldn’t understand a word of what anyone was saying…! It took me months before I could finally hear through the thick, but fantastic, Scottish accents. But I managed, and although I have no idea how it happened, my English now have a strong Scottish tinge to it! That’s an ice-breaker for sure!
After falling head-over-heals in love with Scotland, I made a brief stop back home in Scandinavia before moving to ‘the big smog’ – London! After working for a couple of years, I decided to go back to drama school and had the craziest year of my life receiving an MA in musical theatre from the Royal Academy of Music and am a proud member of the #ramfam.
